Canoeing on the River Wye is suitable for all levels of ability. Most of our customers have either never canoed before or have only done it a handful of times. Some of our customers will return 3 or 4 times a year building up their confidence and ability and take on longer sections of the Wye. The River Wye is ideal for learning how to Canoe and Kayak. The river is relatively narrow and during the summer months reasonably shallow in most places.
Hourly canoe hire (90 mins) is ideal if you only want to spend a short amount of time on the river. It gives you the flexibility to do as much or as little as you want. If you have never canoed before then this is the perfect introduction to paddling. Our staff will give you some tuition on steering and give you an idea of how far upstream you can go.
Some of our Canoe Hire Trips include the Half Day and the Three Quarter Day. The half day hire is about 3 hours of gentle downstream paddling and the three quarter day option is the same distance but you get an extra hour or so to enjoy a picnic lunch en-route. These options are ideal for a mini adventure for everyone to enjoy.
Firstly choose which experience you would like to give someone as a gift. Information on each trip can be found by going to our trips page. There you will find a more detailed description of the route and what to expect.
Once you have purchased the gift voucher online we will then send it to you via email. You can then download the voucher and either send it to them via email or print it off and give it to them in person. The voucher will have a unique reference code that can be redeemed on our website.
We will then send them confirmation of their booking via email. Further joining instructions will also be sent, like the preparation guidelines, route maps and safety information.
Our normal terms and conditions apply and vouchers are valid for 3 seasons from date of purchase.
