Our canoeing adventures on the River Wye are suitable for all levels of ability. So most of our customers have either never canoed before or have only done it a handful of times. Some of our customers will return 2 or 3 times a year building up their confidence and ability. So they can take on longer and more difficult sections of the Wye.

So you initially arrive at our canoe hire centre in Symonds Yat West. This is where we issue you with a buoyancy aid (life jacket), a paddle and a 60 litre dry barrel. We then transport you upstream to the launch point in our minibus. This is where you will set off on your journey, making your way downstream back to us. So all of our trips finish back at our canoe hire centre in Symonds Yat West.
The shorter canoe hire trips we offer include the half day hire and the three quarter day hire. The half day hire is about 3 hours of gentle downstream paddling with a short break en-route. The three quarter day option is the same distance but you get an extra hour or so to enjoy a picnic lunch en-route. These options are ideal for a mini adventure for everyone to enjoy.
Our best value for money trip is the 1 day trip from Ross on Wye to Symonds Yat. You get to spend all day on the river. Approximately 6 hours of gentle downstream paddling. This quiet section of river tends to be more tranquil and teeming with wildlife. You also get to see the magnificent Goodrich Castle from the North side which can only be viewed from the river. If you are looking for more of a challenge, then perhaps one of our 2 day trips is what you are looking for? Spend a couple of days out in the wilderness, canoeing during the day and camping next to the river overnight. Before heading off on your journey you will be given a safety brief by one of our qualified staff. This will include some basic self-rescue techniques and how to steer and control the canoe. We will also talk you through your route maps and identify some of the more exciting sections and wildlife you might see along the way.
