We took the two day experience, camping at Ross on Wye, and had an amazing time.
Canoe the Wye provided all the canoe equipment, a decent map and a safety briefing, then we were off and had the freedom to set our own pace.
Highly recommend them and the Wye is a beautiful place.

Magical! The entire route is absolutely beautiful. I didn’t realise we were in for such a treat. There’s so much art to discover along the riverbank, and the wildlife you might encounter along the way makes the experience even more special. It was such a fantastic and memorable trip. I’m definitely coming back!

This was so much fun! We done the full day option and to be honest a half day will be more than enough for most people as we struggled (physically to row) the last couple hours… we are both young and fairly fit to so keep that in mind but the views are stunning and so worth the trip 😊

A group of 5 of us had a lovely day canoeing on the Wye, we did the 1 day trip as total beginners , rafted together on 2 canoes. 4 adults and 1 child .
We managed it very well and thoroughly enjoyed it , we will definitely be doing it again next year ,We saw lots of wildlife.
The Canoe the Wye staff were very friendly, fun , helpful and explained it all very well. Top marks from us. Over all very good value for money and an excellent experience that we will all remember doing together , well worth it.

I visited Canoe the Wye with my daughter, and we had an amazing time. Paddling down the beautiful River Wye was a fantastic experience from start to finish. All the equipment was excellent, and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional.
It was really easy to find, with a large car park outside, and the whole trip was well organised. Excellent value for money and a genuinely memorable day out. We would definitely recommend it!

What a fantastic weekend! From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly upbeat. The information we received before arrival, as well as during check-in, meant we were fully prepared for our two-day adventure. As a complete novice, I really appreciated how clear and reassuring everything was.

It was an unforgettable experience, and I'm already rounding up family and friends to join me on the next adventure with Canoe The Wye Ltd. Highly recommended!

Very straightforward and easy experience. We did the 90 minute paddle - which was an hour of paddling upstream against the flow ( a good workout) and half an hour of very easy paddling back downstream. The equipment was all in good order, very straight forward instructions and safety brief and all in all well worth the £60 it cost us for 4 people to have an afternoon on the river. If I was going again I'd probably choose the half day or full day option - which is all paddling downstream, which would probably be a bit more relaxing.

We book the 3/4 day trip for my sister’s birthday and it was just lovely. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The river is beautiful and we spotted a lot of wildlife. We will definitely be back.

An absolutely fantastic day with Canoe The Wye. I was very nervous beforehand and they really do put your mind at ease when they go through their safety talk…so much so, that I want to do it again - I think I’ve got the canoeing bug!

Located next to the Paddocks Hotel, they get you all set up with lifejackets, maps, paddles etc then drive you to your starting point, as you finish back at CTW. It’s a stunning journey, everything that you pass is beautiful. You’re well equipped if there is an emergency, as you can call their emergency line and they’ll come to help you. But the chances of there being an emergency are very low.

What stood out to me was the price. £35 for 13 KM which was roughly 4 hours. It’s incredible value for the day that you get. I’d absolutely recommend Canoe The Wye. I’ll definitely be doing it again.

We had a great time doing the 3/4 day canoe trip, the team made it super easy for us and gave us all the kit we needed and transport upstream so the paddle was very relaxing and suitable for any age or ability. We really enjoyed the scenery, wildlife and tranquility.

We arrived at Canoe the Wye where a man booked us in, showed us where the toilets and parking were. We were given a safety vest, waterproof barrel for our belongings, oars and a map. Someone came down with us to the river and did a safety briefing. It was a beautiful sunny day and the river was very calm. We really enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend it and would do it again. There were all different age groups enjoying it.

Awesome experience, really nice day out. Also if you’re not very experienced the full day can also suit beginners. I was very tiered after but really enjoyed it. Additionally, a great idea to do on a hot day (we did it on the hottest day of the yr). You can actually enjoy the sun without feeling boiled to a crisp. The guides were really helpful and give you some pointers and then let you get on with it once you can get a hold of steering. It felt nice to be able to go at your own pace.

We had a wonderful day trip down the Wye. The briefing was clear and informative, as was the pre-trip information, the equipment of good quality (no rough hand grips on paddles which can be painful after a few hours of paddling), transport to the start point efficient, friendly, helpful staff and good value.

A group booking for 24 people. Easy to organise and book through the website. Clear instructions prior to arrival. Super friendly team with experienced hands available. And what a beautiful meander down the river. Booked a full-day, and proved to be an amazing way to see the River Wye, the local nature (Kingfisher, Wag tails, Peregrine falcons...sheep). Despite 2 rather comical capsizes, everybody arrived back with a smile. Many thanks CTW team!

I am giving a full five stars +++ for the lovely experience we had today. Not only did they squeeze us in for a last minute booking, they went above and beyond in the customer service department. There are lots of canoe hire to choose from but I felt the heart and care given to us made them stand tall above the rest. The safety briefing was also very through (with visuals) and they made sure we felt confident . We have canoed before but actually that lesson helped us learn more and it definitely improved our skill. Make sure to stop by and make a booking if you are in the area. They truly made our day special and we are grateful for the new memory

We booked for a canoe in April - weather can be changeable so we were prepared for all eventualities. Rain was coming in, in the afternoon so the team at Canoe the Wye started us out an hour earlier than scheduled, and we were back before the rain started. Thank you.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, the service was excellent, and it’s fantastic value for money. I’d recommend it to anyone—especially beginners. The stretch of the Wye is absolutely beautiful.

You’re given a clear safety briefing beforehand, with everything explained so you feel confident before heading out. The team were really supportive throughout, and we had such a great time.

My friend and I did a wonderful two-day canoe trip with Canoe the Wye. The equipment is sturdy and new, the staff are very friendly and informative and Nick takes the safety of his customers very seriously. I also thought it was excellent value for money.

Couldn’t fault it, having looked around at similar companies in the area it was the most cost effective and value for money. We did the full day as a family of 5 with no prior experience and we were given all the necessary instructions to make it a lovely day out for us all. The staff were brilliant especially Harvey and Nick. Although we was apprehensive for choosing the full day experience it flew by and we would 100% do it again. Excellent.

BRILLIANT. I wasnt sure what to expect, but we did the 2 day trip and it is incredibly well organised. It feels like the perfect amount of support as well as you are independent on the river, but you know there is someone looking out for you and giving advice if the conditions change (which they did on our day 2 and the communication was amazing)

100% make sure you stop at the little coffee hut. We didnt catch the ladies name there, but youll know who I mean when you meet her. An absolute joy! Thank you ✨️

Hired a X3 and X2 person canoe for a day's paddle from Ross to Symonds Yat and had a great day. The pre checks, safety briefing and route outline were straight forward and informative, the drive from S Yat to Ross was swift and we were in the water in no time.
Thanks to Nick and his team for a great experience, apologies for my pal rabbiting away in your ear on the drive to Ross and 100% would recommend/use again

Really great experience, we did the 2 day kayak to Ross on Wye and then to Symonds Yat. Really beautiful stretch of river, I was a bit worried about missing the camp site or the end point but it was really easy to find both. You get a good safety briefing and they explain everything you need to know before you go out, you also get route maps for each day. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we had a great time, I'm really looking forward to doing it again.

We visited Canoe the Wye in late August. I was with my son. We were initially overwhelmed with the number of canoe hire options in the area so decided to check a few out the days before we booked. Canoe the wye stood out in terms of price/value for money (they had a weekday offer!) friendliness/helpfulness of the team location and ease of parking.

I experienced issues with the online booking system and called them. Nick was really good and resolved the problem and we booked no problem.

On the day the safety briefing and drop off was professional and organised. The driver was great and chatty on the short ride to the launch place. They were helpful getting the canoe on the river as my son is only 13 and didn’t quite have the strength to carry it down the short bank.

Equipment was in good order and map with local info provided. They suggest lunch stop with local cake shop welcome rest!!Would definitely recommend.

After some research, I found this company offered the best price in the area. We booked two boats for 90 minutes and, as complete beginners, weren’t sure what to expect. The staff gave clear instructions and even tied our boats together so our family could stay connected.

It turned out to be a great team-building experience and very relaxing once we got the hang of paddling. We brought a bag with snacks and enjoyed a mini picnic along the way.

My family and I had a wonderful time canoeing on the River Wye and would definitely book with them again.

Lovely couple of days on the river Wye.
A great experience with clear instructions, quality equipment and a friendly welcome.
The set up is well organised, with clear maps and transport to the start point.
A daily land based check in provided, along with local knowledge.
On return, two guys at the landing point ready to take our canoe for us and make the finish point a smooth as possible.

Had a great 3/4 day trip on Sunday. The staff were excellent and knowledgable. Easy check in and safety brief was concise. Quick trip in a mini bus to the start then a leisurely paddle back down stream. We stopped off on a shingle beach for our picnic. However, places for lunch are hard to find due to land owners not liking the canoes to beach on 'their land', signs everywhere. Wildlife a plenty and we even saw a kingfisher. Great fun for an afternoon.

Excellent day out on the river, we booked the 3/4 day and there was plenty of time to complete the journey even with a decent pick nick break. The guy's were very helpful with a good bit of banter and the preliminary's ran like clock work. You will struggle to find such a beautiful river valley with a mild river like this......that is also an absolute bargain! Will be back to do the one or two day trip next year!

Always a fantastic experience. Been about four times with groups ranging from 6-12 on the two day trip. Nick and the team at CTW couldn’t be more friendly or helpful. Excellent value for money, would highly recommend.

The whole experience from booking online the day before to arriving, checking in, getting our safety brief and setting off at Ross on Wye was seamless and very informative. There were o surprises along the river, everything was as expected - where to keep rowing, where to choose a side, where you can stop for a picnic. The weather was great which was a bonus. The whole day from start to finish was brilliant. Would def do again and highly recommend.

My daughter loved her morning on the canoe. All the staff were really friendly and the whole experience. was very enjoyable. The staff told me where I could go to wave at my partner and daughter as they travelled down the river. Would definitely recommend Canoe the Wye to all my family and friends.

What a great experience!
The trip was really well organised. We were well prepared thanks to the information that was sent out prior to our trip. Canoe the wye supplied everything else and ensured that we were well briefed.
Once we set off, the scenery was beautiful. We camped at Ross rowing club which was just a short walk from the town centre with a good range of pubs and shops.
We had a brilliant time and have recommended to lots of friends and family.
A really friendly but professional bunch, I would highly recommend 😊
