Pubs and Hotels
We are based in the grounds of The Paddocks Hotel 01600 890246, which has 26 en-suite bedrooms. Facilities include a superb ballroom, bar area, large dining room and spacious, comfortable reception rooms. Located within the hotel grounds are The Paddocks Cottages Tel: 01600 890024 who can accommodate smaller groups in a selection of 1 and 2 bedroom bungalows. Also nearby is Wye Valley View Tel: 01600 890070 which caters for up to four people.
For larger groups of between 12 to 22 people Holly Tree House Tel: 01600 772929 should be considered. It has 9 bedrooms, 2 sitting rooms, covered hot tub, Sky TV and is pet friendly.
Camp sites are located at River Wye Camping Tel: 01600 890672 five minutes walk away and close by is Sterrett's Caravan Park & Campsite Tel: 01600 890886. Elmsdale Campsite at Marstow, five minutes drive away, has a flat field next to a meandering stream, and it makes a very pleasant base for exploring the area. Tel: 01600 890782. The river can be crossed by foot ferry at either the Ye Old Ferrie Inn (two minutes walk away, or opposite the Saracens Head (15 minutes walk away) where other accommodation can be found at Symonds Yat East - The Saracens Head Tel: 01600 890435. You should allow 30 minutes to cross the river and the walk between Symonds Yat East and our canoe hire centre in Symonds Yat West. Other accommodation on the East side of the river is Symonds Yat Rock Lodge which is set in a scenic location high up by Yat Rock, just along the road there is also The Rock B&B. For those of you who would like to stay for a couple of days in the local area Yolande and Andrew at Caenwood have a couple of comfy, clean and modern rooms up on the quiet and peaceful Howle Hill. One is a spacious ensuite double at £40 per night and the other is a kingsize with shared bathroom, (both are without breakfast and minimum 2 nights) Tel: 01989 563790.
Another option over the river is the large campsite at Bracelands in Christchurch run by the Forestry Commisson, which has 520 pitches; Tel: 024 7642 3008.

Just the other side of the A40 is the village of Whitchurch. It has Norton House B&B - an award winning, 4 star B&B run by Lynda and David Whittle; Tel: 01600 890046.
Ten minutes journey down the A40 will bring you to the popular market town of Monmouth. There are numerous accommodation options here. Coleford is a market town in the Forest of Dean about 20 minutes away (with a brand new tourist information centre), that has a few options to stay. At Mile End on the outskirts of the town is the luxury glamping site called The Dome Garden - a collection of insulated geodesic domes in a beautiful woodland setting. Tel: 07974685818.

A newly opened campsite near the pretty village of St Briavels (about 25 minutes drive away) is Forest and Wye Valley Camping - their phone number is 01594 530777 and they have 43 pitches. Around 35 minutes away on the road from Chepstow to St Briavels is the very attractive camping/caravan site of Beeches Farm. It is a lovely spot with amazing views over the Wye Valley towards Tintern Abbey and beyond, and very popular with Bristolians (but I think they let other people stay there as well!).
