CANOE HIRE ACCOMMODATION AT KERNE BRIDGE
KERNE BRIDGE AND WELSH BICKNOR (HALF A DAY UPSTREAM)
Canoeists finishing their canoe hire trip at Symonds Yat only normally consider staying in this area if they want a short last day of their canoe trip. Canoeists have two options for accommodation in this area. The first is at Kerne Bridge.
Pubs and Hotels
The Inn on the Wye has rooms ranging from £56 - £85, Tel: 01600 890872. Canine canoeists are also allowed for £10. Lumleys Guest House has rooms from £65, Tel: 01600 890040, they are located over the road from the canoe landing point.
The other option is to canoe another 3 miles to Wye Valley YHA at Welsh Bicknor where you can camp or stay in the hostel (Tip: Even if the online availability is showing full there are usually beds available, but you need to speak to the warden directly. You can only do this during the opening hours shown on the web site by calling the hostel number and pressing option 3. The same applies for camping - which can only be booked direct). It is an old rectory overlooking the River Wye with views down the Wye Valley to Yat Rock. It has 25 acres of grounds in which you can wander.
